  34. HST's are definately supported in Tabby 2.2 as most likely most of the Mac
  35. people participating in FidoNet are using HST's or Dual Standards, including
  36. myself.

  38. You should have the modem and Tabby locked to 19200 baud, as well as your BBS
  39. program.  If all three are not set to the same thing, you'll have problems
  40. with crashmail calls failing as the baudrates won't match.
  41.   
  42. HST's do use 14400, but that is not the baudrate at which they communicate
  43. with the computer.  Most people using Tabby should have the rates set to 19200
  44.   
  45. as I mentioned above, and Harry already has set.
  46.   
  47. I guess my only recommendation would be to set your XON/XOFF handshaking so
  48. that it does not use Receive handshaking.  I had problems with that giving me
  49. tons of errors, so I turned it off and now my system transfers on the average
  50. of 1400-1600 cps.  The command to do this would be &I0  You should still use
  51. transmit flow control.

  53. If anyone else has ideas about the receive flow control, I would love to hear
  54. them...

  116. Nope, none of that is happening.  BusyOut/Bout takes it off hook and then the
  117. next application Zip/Arc Extract then Deliver Mail...  No restart and nothing
  118. using the serial port.

  140. Thanks for the info!  STR #2500 is set correctly, according to the
  141. modem manual. Still going back on hook after about 2 - 3 minutes.

  163. Well, there's one file for each echomail area, and one for each processing day
  164. (i think).  The amount of days that is kept is configurable... the default is
  165. three days it will keep.  So I guess yes, because of your circumstances it might
  166. not be that efficient, but I we have 4 points that call about everyday.... I'd
  167. say we probably cut our processing time in half... maybe even more...

  222. Yes, Ray...you may have seen my previous message attesting to this. It
  223. seems that I forgot that I had replaced my Node Compiler with a copy from
  224. the master disk when I had a crash and forgot to go in and change the
  225. settings for area code and local node in the settings box. Suffice it to
  226. say that if it happens agin, at least I know where to look!

  243. Sounds to me like either your modem can't handle an OH for any length of time,
  244. or TelCo is somehow putting it back on hook. Why not try putting a phone on
  245. that line and taking it OH? Do you get a dial tone back after 2-3 minutes?

  292. In Phoenix we have some IBM systems that support Mac but none to my knowledge
  293. that are Mac ONLY boards such as Tigers Den, AMUG, AMUG II, AMUG Preferred,
  294. etc..

  395. I won't enter the compressor debate. I'm a registered user of StuffIt Deluxe,
  396. Compact Pro and Disk Doubler and I like all of them for different reasons.

  398. I choose to use, some people will have problems.  You can't use an encrypted
  399. Compacted file. StuffIt creates a resource fork for its encrypted files (the
  400. resource fork won't survive a freq with Tabby 2.2). Michael Bean has been
  401. knocked
  402. for using Disk Doubler on his AMUG "BBS In A Box" CD-ROM...

  419. about his products, and it SEEMS like he is doing everything he can to expand
  420. it's capabilities... i'm sure if you guys complain, he'll make some changes

  437.  As mentioned to others here, the problem was that the nodecompiler
  438. settings had not been changed from the defaults to my area code and local
  439. node number. All is well now...well, as well as anything can be with "Tabby
  440. From Hell"...
